Marilyn Susan Rankin


A registered teacher in the UK and New Zealand, Marilyn Rankin graduated from Nottingham University in 1968 with BA Hons in Social Administration; Psychology and Politics. After working in Human Resources she emigrated to New Zealand where she taught English, Social Studies and Geography in  two of the leading state and private schools in  the Country. She gained a Post graduate Diploma in Education from Massey University before returning with family to Norfolk in 1990. 

Since this time she has worked  at Northgate High School and Dereham Sixth form College where she has taught GCSE and A levels in the subjects offered for tuition. Students have regularly achieved  and /or exceeded their target minimum grades.

To enhance  curriculum teaching in the classroom, Marilyn has led many school and college trips to  UK and overseas destinations: New York and Hollywood  Media and  Film trips; Turkey, Sicily and Rome for Classical Civilisation. Other visits have been to Venice, Costa Rica, France and the Australian outback.

Additional qualifications are: Certificate in Film Studies – UEA 2005; Post Graduate Certificate in Classics, Trinity St David’s College, Lampeter University of Wales 2011. CELTA diploma for TEFL teaching, 2012. Marilyn also has an Enhanced CRB Check.

Marilyn has been an examiner/ team Leader for UK and International exam boards during the last 20 years.
